For the kingdom of heaven is like a man traveling to a far country, who called his own servants and delivered his goods to them. |
" |
15 |
And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on a journey. |
16 |
Then he who had received the five talents went and traded with them, and made another five talents. |
17 |
And likewise he who had received two gained two more also. |
18 |
But he who had received one went and dug in the ground, and hid his lord's money. |
19 |
After a long time the lord of those servants came and settled accounts with them. |
20 |
"So he who had received five talents came and brought five other talents, saying, "Lord, you delivered to me five talents; look, I have gained five more talents besides them.' |
21 |
His lord said to him, "Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.' |
22 |
He also who had received two talents came and said, "Lord, you delivered to me two talents; look, I have gained two more talents besides them.' |
23 |
His lord said to him, "Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.' |

Luke 19 : 11 - 19
Chapter 19
11 |
Now as they heard these things, He spoke another parable, because He was near Jerusalem and because they thought the kingdom of God would appear immediately. |
12 |
Therefore He said: "A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and to return. |
13 |
So he called ten of his servants, delivered to them ten minas, and said to them, "Do business till I come.' |
14 |
But his citizens hated him, and sent a delegation after him, saying, "We will not have this man to reign over us.' |
15 |
"And so it was that when he returned, having received the kingdom, he then commanded these servants, to whom he had given the money, to be called to him, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading. |
16 |
Then came the first, saying, "Master, your mina has earned ten minas.' |
17 |
And he said to him, "Well done, good servant; because you were faithful in a very little, have authority over ten cities.' |
18 |
And the second came, saying, "Master, your mina has earned five minas.' |
19 |
Likewise he said to him, "You also be over five cities.' |
And Glory be to God forever.

who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself. |
Chapter 4
1 |
Therefore, my beloved and longed-for brethren, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, beloved. |
2 |
I implore Euodia and I implore Syntyche to be of the same mind in the Lord. |
3 |
And I urge you also, true companion, help these women who labored with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the Book of Life. |
4 |
Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! |
5 |
Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. |
6 |
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; |
7 |
and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. |
8 |
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy--meditate on these things. |
9 |
The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you. |

Amen.
James 5 : 9 - 12
Chapter 5
9 |
Do not grumble against one another, brethren, lest you be condemned. Behold, the Judge is standing at the door! |
10 |
My brethren, take the prophets, who spoke in the name of the Lord, as an example of suffering and patience. |
11 |
Indeed we count them blessed who endure. You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end intended by the Lord--that the Lord is very compassionate and merciful. |
12 |
But above all, my brethren, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or with any other oath. But let your "Yes" be "Yes," and your "No,No," lest you fall into judgment. |
Do not love the world or the things in the world.
The world passes away, and its desires; but he who does the will of God abides forever.
Amen.
Acts of the Apostles
The Acts of our fathers the apostles, may their blessings be with us.
Acts 18 : 24 - 28
Chapter 18
24 |
Now a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man and mighty in the Scriptures, came to Ephesus. |
25 |
This man had been instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in spirit, he spoke and taught accurately the things of the Lord, though he knew only the baptism of John. |
26 |
So he began to speak boldly in the synagogue. When Aquila and Priscilla heard him, they took him aside and explained to him the way of God more accurately. |
27 |
And when he desired to cross to Achaia, the brethren wrote, exhorting the disciples to receive him; and when he arrived, he greatly helped those who had believed through grace; |
28 |
for he vigorously refuted the Jews publicly, showing from the Scriptures that Jesus is the Christ. |
Acts 9 : 1 - 6
Chapter 9
1 |
Then Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest |
2 |
and asked letters from him to the synagogues of Damascus, so that if he found any who were of the Way, whether men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem. |
3 |
As he journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven. |
4 |
Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?" |
5 |
And he said, "Who are You, Lord?" Then the Lord said, "I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. It is hard for you to kick against the goads." |
6 |
So he, trembling and astonished, said, "Lord, what do You want me to do?" Then the Lord said to him, "Arise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do." |
The word of the Lord shall grow, multiply, be mighty, and be confirmed, in the holy Church of God.
Amen.

Luke 12 : 32 - 44
Chapter 12
32 |
"Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. |
33 |
Sell what you have and give alms; provide yourselves money bags which do not grow old, a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches nor moth destroys. |
34 |
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. |
35 |
"Let your waist be girded and your lamps burning; |
36 |
and you yourselves be like men who wait for their master, when he will return from the wedding, that when he comes and knocks they may open to him immediately. |
37 |
Blessed are those servants whom the master, when he comes, will find watching. Assuredly, I say to you that he will gird himself and have them sit down to eat, and will come and serve them. |
38 |
And if he should come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants. |
39 |
But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. |
40 |
Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect." |
41 |
Then Peter said to Him, "Lord, do You speak this parable only to us, or to all people?" |
42 |
And the Lord said, "Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his master will make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of food in due season? |
43 |
Blessed is that servant whom his master will find so doing when he comes. |
44 |
Truly, I say to you that he will make him ruler over all that he has. |
And Glory be to God forever.
