"New and improved!" That's the key marketing tag to re-introduce an older product that has fallen out of the public perception. Make a few changes, then re-market the old product. Paul wants the Colossians to know that Jesus does not need to be "new and improved." Instead, they need to follow him as Lord just as they did when they first became Christians. That is our need, too. Our lives need to be rooted and nurtured in Christ Jesus as Lord, full of thankfulness for God's incredible gift of grace in his Son.

The Second Day of the Blessed Month of Baramoudah

Martyrdom of St.Christopher

      On this day St. Christopher was martyred. He was from the country, whose people were cannibals, those who believed on the hands of St. Matthias the apostle (As mentioned in the eighth day of the month of Baramhat). He had unsightly look and the body of a giant but his soul was good and gentle. When he was captured by the soldiers of Emperor Decius the infidel he admonished them for afflicting the Christians. The captain of these soldiers beat him severely, and St.Christopher told him: "If it was not the command of Christ which teaches me not to do unto others as they do unto us, other wise you and your soldiers could not be delivered from me." The captain sent to inform Decius concerning him, who sent two hundred soldiers to bring him. On their way, the bread they had was consumed except for a little of it. He prayed and blessed that little of bread and became in abundance. The soldiers marvelled exceedingly and believed on the Lord Christ the God of Christopher. When they arrived to Antioch they were baptized by the hands of Abba Paul the Patriarch.

      When St. Christopher came before Decius, who became frightened from his appearance, tried to charm, persuade and deceive him to deny Christ. Then he sent two beautiful women to make him fall into sin with them. He rebuked and preached them and they believed on the Lord Christ. They confessed their faith in the Lord Before the Emperor, who ordered them to be beheaded and they received the crown of martyrdom. As of this Saint, he was cast into a huge cauldron over hot fire, but no harm whatsoever came to him. The people present were amazed and they believed on the Lord Christ. They came forward to remove him out of the cauldron but the Emperor ordered them to be cut off with the swords. The emperor finally ordered to cut off St. Christopher's neck and he received the crown of martyrdom.

May his intercession be with us. Amen..

Departure of Pope Yoannis the Ninth, the Eighty-First Patriarch

      On this day also of the year 1043 A.M., on the 29th of March 1327 A.D. Pope Yoannis the ninth, the eighty first Pope departed. He was from Nephia - Menofia and was known as Yoannis El-Nakady. During his days many tribulations befell the Christians, who were killed or burned or crucified. The Moslems ridiculed them by putting them on camels, dressing them with turbans and blue clothes. But the lord had sympathy upon his people with His great mercy. The Pope departed at Haret Zewaila and was buried at El Nastoor monastery after he had stayed on the Chair for 6 years and 6 month.

May his prayers be with us and glory be to God forever. Amen.

القيامة هي الجانب الملموس لمجد الصليب. ففى الصليب قوة المحبة الباذلة التي يبدو في بذلها غياب أو تغيب. أما في القيامة فتظهر المحبة الحاضرة التي تمنح لقابليها الفرصة للتعبير عن فرحهم وتقديرهم وامتنانهم.

إن المحبة مثل الشمس إذا غابت فإنها تشرق في الجانب الآخر من المسكونة وتعود لتشرق من جديد في صباح جديد حاملة معها كل الخير وتعانقها أغصان الأشجار وتتألق بها قطرات ندى الليل وينسى الطير غيابها لأنها لم تغب إلا لتشرق لا يعوقها عن موعدها لا الجبال ولا الآكام لأنها ترتفع متسامية فوق الجميع.

لقد غاب حضور السيد المسيح عن أرض الأحياء حينما غاب بحسب الجسد عن تلاميذه القديسين. ولكنه مماتًا في الجسد ومحييًا في الروح ذهب فكرز للأرواح التي في السجن. بشرهم وأشرق عليهم في العالم الآخر بنوره العجيب الذي فزعت منه الأرواح الشريرة وخفافيش الظلام. وفرح به آدم وبنوه الذين رقدوا على رجاء الخلاص.. وهكذا نقلهم من السجن إلى الفردوس وطيب قلوبهم بعد طول انتظار لآلاف السنين.

أما الكنيسة في أورشليم الأرضية فقد أشرقت عليها أنوار القيامة بعد ثلاثة أيام إذ قام الرب من الأموات وصار باكورة الراقدين ورافقت قيامته مظاهرة تهتف للحياة جاءت من العالم الآخر لتعلن أن شمس البر قد أشرق عليهم بنور خلاصه العجيب.

لم يكن لقيام أجساد القديسين الراقدين ودخولهم المدينة المقدسة أي معنى لولا أن شمس البر نفسه قد قام مظهرًا أنه هو الحياة للجميع "بِمُقْتَضَى الْقَصْدِ وَالنِّعْمَةِ الَّتِي أعْطِيَتْ لَنَا فِي الْمَسِيحِ يَسُوعَ قَبْلَ الأَزْمِنَةِ الأَزَلِيَّةِ. وَإِنَّمَا أظْهِرَتِ الآنَ بِظُهُورِ مُخَلِّصِنَا يَسُوعَ الْمَسِيحِ، الَّذِي أبْطَلَ الْمَوْتَ وَأَنَارَ الْحَيَاةَ وَالْخُلُود" (2تى1: 9-10).

من الآن سوف نفهم أن الهوان هو الجانب المنظور للمجد غير المنظور والتخلي هو الجانب المنظور للغنيمة غير المنظورة والغياب هو الجانب المنظور للحضور غير المنظور وفقدان الذات هو الجانب المنظور لوجودها غير المنظور.. وهكذا..

ولكن الجانب غير المنظور هو غير منظور بالنسبة للعالم الطبيعي فقط أما بالنسبة للروحيين أو لمن يحيون بالإيمان فإنهم سوف ينظرون ما لا يستطيع العالم أن يراه، كما ذكرنا أيضًا هنا في موقع الأنبا تكلا هيمانوت في أقسام أخرى.. لأن المجد لا يراه من باعوا المجد، والوجود الحقيقي لا يراه من باعوا وجودهم للباطل الزائل، والرب القائم لا يراه من رفضوا قيام الحق في حياتهم وأحكامهم.

إن الرب سيبقى دائمًا هو الغائب الحاضر المختفي الظاهر لأنه هو الحق: والحق يتكلم حتى ولو صمت ويتكلم حتى ولو بدا أنه قد ضاع لأن الحق لا يمكن أن يضيع..

في صباح أحد القيامة المجيد فلنهرع لنعانق النور الذي أشرق ولن يغيب إلى الأبد.

في الخليقة القديمة كان الرب يقول وكان صباح وكان مساء يومًا واحدًا.

أما في الخليقة الجديدة فقد أشرق فجر القيامة الذي لن يغيب إلى أبد الدهور.

كان يوم الراحة القديم أو السبت القديم هو في نهاية الخليقة وفي نهاية الأسبوع أي في اليوم السابع..

أما يوم الراحة الجديد أو السبت الجديد فهو في بداية الخليقة وفي أول الأسبوع الجديد أي في اليوم الثامن..

إننا لا نقول أنه في اليوم الأول فقط لأن الخليقة القديمة لم يتم إلغاء وجودها بالفناء ولكنها قد تجددت "إِنْ كَانَ أَحَدٌ فِي الْمَسِيحِ فَهُوَ خَلِيقَةٌ جَدِيدَةٌ" (2كو 5: 17). "وَقَالَ الْجَالِسُ عَلَى الْعَرْشِ: هَا أَنَا أَصْنَعُ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ جَدِيدًا" (رؤ 21: 5).

إن من يحتفل بالقيامة فإنما يحتفل بالحياة الجديدة التي لا يغلبها الموت عابرًا كل عوامل الموت الزمني لأنه قد اتحد بالحياة الأبدية التي كانت عند الآب وأظهرت لنا (1يو1: 2).
