وفي التفاصيل بشأن أضرار ثوران بركان جبل مايون في الفلبين، أوضح المجلس الوطني للحد من مخاطر الكوارث في الفلبين، أنَّ أكثر من نصف المتضررين من البركان والذين يقدر عددهم بنحو 39 ألف شخص مازالوا يبحثون عن مأوى في مراكز الإجلاء.

وأضاف المجلس الوطني للحد من مخاطر الكوارث، أنَّ أكثر من 20 ألف شخص لجأوا إلى 28 مركزًا للإجلاء في مقاطعة ألباي وسط البلاد منذ أسبوعين، إذ بدأ حدوث اضطرابات بسبب البركان، وفقًا لما نقلت قناة «إيه بي إس-سي بي إن» الفلبينية.
وفي أحدث تقرير للمجلس الوطني الفلبيني للحد من الكوارث، أعلنت 6 مدن وبلدات بالقرب من منطقة البركان تعليق الدراسة.
في السياق ذاته، وبشأن تداعيات ثوران بركان جبل مايون في الفلبين، قدمت الحكومة الفلبينية مساعدات بلغت قيمتها أكثر من 62 مليون بيزو إلى السكان المتضررين تتمثل معظمها في عبوات طعام مقدمة من وزارة الرعاية الاجتماعية والتنمية.

وبركان جبل مايون في الفلبين الواقع على بعد 330 كيلومترًا جنوب شرق العاصمة مانيلا هو أحد أكثر البراكين نشاطًا في البلاد وعددها 24 بركانًا.
يُشار إلى أنَّه في الثامن من يونيو الماضي، أعلن المعهد الفلبيني لعلم البراكين والزلازل رفع حالة التأهب إلى المستوى الثالث، بسبب توقعات ثوران بركان مايون.
جدير بالذكر، أنَّ الزلازل والنشاط البركاني من الأمور الشائعة في الفلبين بسبب موقعها على حلقة النار في المحيط الهادئ.
